There are some certain things that anglers obviously need to bring on Alaskan fishing trips. Rods, lines, tackle, bait, a boat, food, weather appropriate clothing. However, there are also some other certain things that anglers often forget to bring on their fishing trips to Alaska. Things that no fishing trip checklist would be complete without. Here are just a few.
Things For If You Get Wet.
No one ever really thinks about getting wet, which is why they never think to include extra supplies on their fishing trip checklist. The fact of the matter is that you’re going to be out on the water, or near it, so there’s a good chance that you’re going to get wet. You’d be wise to put an extra pair of socks, extra pair of shoes, and even waders on your fishing trip checklist, just in case.
Sun Protection.
Sunblock is a must have when fishing, but there are other pieces of sun protection you’d be wise to bring along with you when you go fishing. You’re going to want to bring sunglasses to protect your eyes from the harsh rays reflecting off of the water’s surface. A hat is also a good idea, especially if you’ve lost your hair.
A Multi-Tool.
Having a knife or multi-tool with you when fishing can be a real lifesaver. Who knows what issues might come up when you’re out on the water. Maybe you can’t undo a stubborn knot. Maybe you’ll need to make a small fix to your rod. Who knows, so bring a multi-tool with you just in case.
No matter what fish in Alaska you’re after, your fishing trip checklist needs to have these. If it doesn’t, it’s not complete.
