Chances are, you know somebody who runs. Why wouldn’t you? After all, more than 57 million Americans run or jog at least once every year. Whether competing in a marathon or going for a brisk jog around the neighborhood, runners take all shapes and sizes, ages and backgrounds. The only thing, really, that they all have in common are a pair of legs!

Running makes for a great sport but as an exercise, running can truly improve your health and general state of mind. Running is a phenomenal form of aerobic exercise, the kind of exercise the U.S. Department of Health recommends adults get for at least 2.5 hours every week (or roughly 20 minutes a day). Running is known to lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of contracting Alzheimer’s disease, burn fat, build leg muscle, and even increase life expectancy. There is a seemingly endless number of reasons for you to run.

For those runners who are especially dedicated, personalized gifts for runners are wonderful products that can be enjoyed both on and off the race track. Running enthusiasts sometimes record their running times, so a personalized running log book is a great gift to give to them. For women runners, running jewelry make for great accessories that compliment their sport of choice. There are of course traditional running gifts such as running shoes and running socks but with products as diverse as runners beer mugs and running window decals, they shouldn’t be the only items you think about when getting something for a runner!

There are a number of other items available for runners, all of which make wonderful gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. No matter what you end up getting, though, the gift is sure to make you hit the ground running.
